ABOUT
My Story
My name is Alex Østergaard Jensen, and I was born in the summer of 2001. I grew up in western Denmark, and was immediately exposed to great music by my music-loving parents. By my 7th birthday I had received a drum kit as a gift, and soon thereafter I started taking up lessons.
During the next years, my musical taste grew a lot, ranging from the smooth neo-soul of D’Angelo and the mathematical chamber music of J.S. Bach that we loved to play during music lessons, to the gritty rock of the big four of grunge and the rowdy thrash metal of Metallica I enjoyed playing at home.
After about a decade of playing drums and mallet instruments, I eventually migrated to the guitar in my late teens. Being able to play a predominantly melodic instrument allowed me to more easily pursue songwriting.

A Change of Scenery
During a stay in London, I had life-changing experiences when I watched the LSO perform Harmonielehre by John Adams at their home turf in the Barbican Centre, and later witnessed a rendition of the magical Les Misérables in the Sondheim Theatre.
Deciding during my sabbatical that I wanted to devote my life to working with audio, I went to Engelsholm Højskole (an art-focused folk high school) on an electronic music course, where I had my technical skills refined, and I learned various productivity methods. Most importantly, I collaborated with many like-minded individuals, and had a great time fusing different ideas during projects.
Where I Am Now
I headed off to study at Sonic College (I’m currently on my 5th semester) in the autumn of 2022, pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Sound Design. Here I’ve learned about countless aspects of audio, including game audio, foley and post-production, podcasts and music recording, mixing and mastering. My elective courses were “Advanced Studio Production” and “3-D audio in Music”. Outside of school, my audio works include songwriting and production on personal projects, engineering and mixing with bands and working with external clients like KPMG in Copenhagen and editing the Sonic Days Podcast.

Outside of Music
I enjoy long walks and travelling. I’m an avid Formula 1 fan, and you can occasionally catch me watching a football match – especially if it’s Barcelona playing. My tastes in movies are almost as broad as they are in music. From fantasy and sci-fi to dramas and dogma movies, I even like a good brain-off action-flick now and then.
